Low Pressure Geyser
A low pressure geyser is a unit that does not require pressure to engage the ignition system, this type of unit works with a two part water flow sensor (float and Paddle wheel) that will immediately ignite the Burner when it detects water flow…
How it Works:
- Ignition is powered by means of 2 type D Batteries (3v system)
- Once you open your hot water tap and the water starts running, the two-part water flow sensor detects the flow and completes a circuit which engages the ignitors.
- If the circuit is complete and the control box does not pick up a break in the circuit the solenoid(s) will engage allowing the gas to pass and ignition takes place…
- Seconds later you have instant hot water on demand.
How do I know what Size geyser to Buy?
- To make sure you will have the best experience with a gas Geyser a little bit of compromise is needed!….Remember…a gas geyser does not store water, a gas geyser heats water on demand, what does this mean?
- Many feel that bigger is better, although with a gas geyser that’s not the case…you need to position the geyser as close as legally required to your outlet…and at times this means that you would need to get 2 or more smaller geysers, rather than one large one.
So how do you know which size geyser to get then?
THE BUCKET TEST!!!
HOW DO YOU DO IT?
- Simply take a bucket place it at the water outlet and open the tap…
- Time 15seconds
- Close the tap
- Measure the liters caught in 15 seconds and multiply by 4.
Example:
2L caught in 15 seconds = 2L x 4 = 8L
Therefore you will require a 8L geyser will be sufficient, but you can go up to a 10L geyser
